The Switzerland Postal Service has issued four new stamps that have postage values of 85, 1.00, 1.30 and 1.80 CHF named "Aviation Centenary in Switzerland" on the 4th of March 2010. These stamps depict four different Aircraft used by Switzerland in their aviation history between 1910 and 2010. Each of the stamps is listed below with a brief explanation:

• Ernest Failloubaz (85 CHF) - a Swiss born pilot who was the first to fly between two towns in Switzerland. The flight began in Avenches and ended in Payerne on the 25th of September 1910. The airplane depicted on the stamp is the Grandjean monoplane which was the first aircraft designed and built in Switzerland.
• Modern Civil Aviation (1.00 CHF) - this stamp depicts today's modern technology and features the flagship of Switzerland. It is Airbus A340, in front of Zurich Airport.
• Geo Chavez (1.30 CHF) - was the first man to fly across the Alps in his Bleriot XI airplane on 23 September 1910. The stamp shows the aviators portrait and the Bleriot XI airplane.
• Sport and Hobby Aviation (1.80 CHF) - this stamp stands for the diversity of general avaition with three types of classic aviation sports: engine powered flight, gliding and ballooning. It also shows an altimeter which is a vital flying instrument.

"Aviation Centenary in Switzerland" stamps can be purchased as a set of 4, Sheets of 20, Set of 4 blocks, Collection Sheet, or FDC's. The size of each stamp is 33mm x 28mm with a perforation of 13 1/4 x 13 1/2 using the 2cm reference. The size of a 20 stamp sheet is 195mm x 140mm. They will be printed by Cartor Security Printing using the 4 color offset printing process with 110gms gummed paper.
